So the launch at Lucky's went quite well. A good crowd came out, books were bought, wine was consumed from tiny styrofoam cups... it was fun, and rambled at least an hour past the scheduled time. Thanks to everyone who came out.

| Word "Under" the Street |

Between the continuing CUPE strike, and the cold rainy conditions, Word on the Street was not having its finest moment. But although the sales were not as awesome as they were last year, it was not the complete washout we were fearing. And there was drinking and gambling to fall back on in emergencies! And I was wearing my cardigan, so I kept warm.
It was very good to hear from people who had read the book, some who had gotten it out of the library! How crazy is that? And one guy who was using it in his ESL teaching. And quite a few people were impressed by the One Book One Vancouver sign that Ed made (though I think not one of them were impressed enough to buy a book).
